Chapter News from November 2019

On November 3, the GFS of the ARS met for the 3rd time this year. We had a presentation on recorder maintenance and had the opportunity to try several techniques for ourselves. We took old cork off of tenons and rethreaded them. We removed some blocks and inspected them for mold and damage. And, boy howdy, we found some! We oiled instruments and made Duponol.

Throughout the meeting we assembled basic maintenance kits. Our kits included: cork grease, floss/thread, a beeswax ducky, (yes, we make beeswax in the shape of ducks), dowels, a 1 oz squeeze bottle of duponol, and a cloth for oiling.
